Draw shot

Hit the 1st ball almost head-on with 3 tips of bottom. Backspin pulls the cue ball back to the 2nd ball sitting behind the 1st, on the cue-ball side.

Path: 1st ball → (draws back) 2nd ball (no cushion)

Four-ball only (fewer than 3 cushions before the 2nd ball).

  1. Hit the 1st ball at 7/8 ball, almost head-on, with 3 tips of bottom. The fuller the hit, the straighter it comes back. A slightly thinner hit brings it back at an angle.
  2. Backspin wears off quickly on the cloth, so the farther the cue ball is from the 1st ball, the harder you need to hit. Here, power 6.
  3. The 2nd ball should sit slightly off the line between the cue ball and the 1st ball, so it does not block the way in.

Suggested: 3 tips bottom · power 6 · Right 7/8 ball
