Outside angle

Hit the 1st ball full and the cue ball takes a big lap: long cushion beside the 1st ball → short cushion → far long cushion, back to the 2nd ball behind where it started. The most common pattern in three-cushion.

Path: 1st ball → long cushion → short cushion → long cushion → 2nd ball

Scores in both three-cushion (yellow is the 2nd ball) and four-ball.

  1. Hit the 1st ball full, at 1/2 ball. A full hit kills a lot of speed, so hit hard, around power 8.
  2. Combine running spin (3 tips left) with 2 tips of follow. The cue ball enters the first long cushion with the spin, the angle lengthens, and it keeps rolling all the way around.
  3. Unlike the side angle, the cue ball and 1st ball are far apart and the cue ball enters the first cushion along its line. A full hit can cause a kiss with the 1st ball, so check where the 1st ball goes too.

Suggested: 2 tips top, 3 tips left · power 8 · Right 1/2 ball
